empowerMINT: What makes Franklin a great meeting destination?
Kathryn: There are endless meeting possibilities in Franklin. We are just 17 miles south of downtown Nashville and feature a variety of flexible meeting venues and affordable accommodations. Plus, the Nashville International Airport is only a quick 30 minute ride.
Additionally, our team at Visit Franklin helps to make it a great meeting destination. We are dedicated to promoting and enhancing your next meeting or event. From the start of the planning process through the end, our staff is full of experience with a variety of talents and we can’t wait to show off our destination.
empowerMINT: What is the one thing planners are always surprised to learn about the Franklin area?
Kathryn:Franklin is known for its history, shopping, live music and great restaurants, but the one thing I hear again and again is how beautiful our area is, as well as how close we are to downtown Nashville.
empowerMINT: What might we find you enjoying in the destination on your day off?
Kathryn:I love taking advantage of our new Masters and Makers trail. It is made up of two distilleries, two breweries, and one vineyard all making local spirits. It’s also a great option for off-site opportunities for attendees.
empowerMINT: What are a couple of your favorite places to dine or get a drink?
Kathryn:There is live music every night in Franklin; therefore it’s always a great place to visit. A few of my favorite spots right now include Gray’s on Main, JJ’s Wine Bar, and Cork and Cow.
empowerMINT: What’s the latest news, developments, or events in your destination you’d like to share with planners?
Kathryn:We are really excited to share that downtown Franklin is the pilot city for Mars Petcare National BETTER CITIES FOR PETS initiative. It’s a program created to show how pets are good for businesses. Through the pilot, more than 80 businesses will open their doors to pets to evaluate the positive impact of pets on local economies.
Additionally, slated for completion in spring of 2018, historic downtown Franklin will have the county’s only rooftop restaurant. The restaurant will give visitors 360-degree views of downtown Franklin and the rolling hills of Williamson County.
empowerMINT: What size/type of meetings fit best in your destination?
Kathryn:Franklin has over 5,000 sleeping rooms and a variety of venues ranging in size and function. From casual business or board meetings to annual conventions, we have the facilities, restaurants and outdoor activities that will help to make your next meeting or event a memorable one.
