Stacie Esteban is the Corporate Sales Manager with Visit Frisco and has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. She loves helping meeting planners find the best fit for their meeting. Frisco is a growing destination and is making its mark in the meetings industry. Read on to find out what’s new, unique areas to hold events and what planners are always surprised to learn about Frisco.
SUZZANNE: What might we find you enjoying in the destination on your day off?
STACIE: On my days off, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy going out to eat, paying a visit to one of Frisco’s museums, shopping throughout town or attending one of the many sporting events that take place here.
SUZZANNE: What are a couple of your favorite places to dine or get a drink?
STACIE: Mash’d and TruFire are two of my favorite restaurants in Frisco. For a good cup of coffee, I love going to @nerdvana.coffee+shop in Frisco Square. I also enjoy Eight11 Place in Historic Downtown Frisco for a great glass of wine on the patio.
Frisco is a great meeting destination in part because it is home to five professional sports teams, state-of-the-art venues, a growing museum district and more than 9 million square feet of retail and dining. The city also offers more than 2,300 hotel rooms and a total of 150,000 square feet of meeting space city wide, all conveniently located near everything there is to see and do in Frisco.
Frisco also provides meeting attendees plenty to see and do outside of the meeting. In addition to the city’s offerings, Frisco is centrally located in the United States, and about 20 minutes from both Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport.
Planners are often surprised to learn that we are now the official home of the Dallas Cowboys. The team’s new World Headquarters and Practice facility opened this last August in Frisco. It’s a beautiful facility that is a great option for groups looking for a unique, off-site experience.
Currently trending in the market is the rise in interest of new, upcoming or unique venues to host a meeting or event. For us, there has been a lot of interest in The Ford Center at The Star, the Omni Frisco Hotel and Hotel ZaZa. To stay on top of this trend, the Convention & Visitors Bureau works closely with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation and The City of Frisco’s Development Services to continue to bring these new and exciting opportunities to the city.
We recently launched the all new VisitFrisco.com! The new site is completely responsive, clean, easy to navigate and offers meeting and event planners easily accessible tools to plan their meeting, including comprehensive hotel and venue listings with amenity and venue specs all in one place. Be sure to check it out!
There are a couple of things we are particularly proud of! They include:
- Frisco was recently named the #1 Most Successful City in American by Zippia.
- Frisco continues to be listed as one of the top 5 fastest growing cities in the nation.
- Development continues for Frisco’s $5 Billion Mile which includes The Star, Frisco Station, Wade Park and The Gate. The completion of these developments will add a total of more than 1,400 hotel rooms to Frisco’s already growing hotel inventory. Additional features include retail, entertainment, dining and office space, along with residential space.
- Off the Rails Country Music Fest, a two-day country music festival which takes place in Frisco, recently announced their 2017 lineup. Next year’s festival will feature some of the industry’s biggest names including Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Justin Moore and Miranda Lambert.
For groups wanting to stay under one roof, the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center is a great option. The venue features more than 90,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 42,000 square foot ball room and 330 sleeping rooms. With that said, we welcome several groups who will headquarter at the Embassy Suites Hotel and utilize one or more of the other select service hotel properties that are within walking distance of the conference center. All in all, Frisco is able to host a good variety of meetings from small to large.
