In the past several years, the travel industry has seen an increase in the popularity of travel boycotts. States such as North Carolina, Indiana and Arizona have all been subject to a travel boycott in recent years. To understand how boycotts are impacting perceptions, both in the short and long term as well as among outside residents and tourists, Destinations International engaged APCO Insight to develop a comprehensive research study. Generally, the main research objectives were to better understand the successes and failures of travel boycotts, explore the impact on the travel and tourism industry, and identify favorable alternatives.
The below infograph highlights key findings from the research study. Click here for the full study.
