The following is a compilation of best practices for city-wide events related to a destination’s infrastructure, environmental practices, and social programs. It has been created based on Greenview’s sustainable event programs experience, as well as criteria referenced in related industry standards and reporting guidelines (e.g., APEX/ASTM Green Meeting Standards, ISO20121, and the GRI Event Organizers Sector Supplement).
DMOs can use this document as way to understand the information about their cities that would be helpful to
forward thinking event organizers looking to enhance the sustainability elements of their meetings.
Event organizers can utilize this list as a way to incorporate sustainability elements into their site selection and sustainable event program planning process.
