To be customer-centric has always been important—in fact “to be customer focused” often ends up on many company’s or department’s list of values. But how does one execute on being customer centric exactly?
I think we can all agree that customers have unique perspectives and insights that are valuable to either creating or implementing strategies to reach our objectives. But what is an effective way to get your arms around the obtaining customer input? You need to create a system.
One such system used today by many progressive CVBs are called Customer Advisory Boards. By the very nature of making the commitment to creating a board and keeping one thriving puts the organizations into the regular “practice” of thinking about their customer, creating opportunities for conversation and feedback on new initiatives, and places the organization into action on fulfilling upon one of their important values.
